Heidi Lee is CEO of Beyond Zero Emissions (BZE), an independent think tank focusing on the climate solutions needed to power Australia’s clean industrial future. Since 2020, she has led BZE’s transformation into a nationally recognised leader in place-based decarbonisation and industrial innovation. 

With over two decades of experience in sustainable design and environmental leadership, Heidi brings to her role a sharp focus on practical, scalable change. Under her leadership, BZE has delivered major national initiatives. These include the current National Action Plan program that unlocks coordinated emissions reduction across sectors, and comprehensive plans for regional energy transitions and decarbonising industries. These initiatives have shaped policy and catalysed action to spur the growth of Australia’s clean economy.

BZE is recognised as one of the three most impactful Australian climate organisations by Giving Green, and Heidi has been named a Top Green Power Player by The Australian for three consecutive years. She is an Advisor to The Energy, a media platform covering the energy transition, and on the stakeholder panel for the Net Zero Economy Authority, among other advisory roles.

Heidi holds a Masters of Science (Architecture) from Deakin University.
