Professor Stuart White is Director of the Institute for Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology Sydney. There he leads a team of researchers who create change towards sustainable futures through independent, project-based research.

With over thirty years’ experience in sustainability research, Stuart works across urban infrastructure, deliberative decision making, water- energy- and resource-productivity.

Stuart was Cluster Leader of the Universities-CSIRO Intelligent Grid program and is former Chair of the Energy Research Institutes Council for Australia. He served on the board of directors for the Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity (A2EP) from 2011 to 2023.

 In 2012 Stuart was awarded the Australian Museum Eureka Prize for Environmental Research.
