Scott Andrew bought his 1940’s double brick family home in Sydney’s inner south 3 years ago. With an existing basic 5.6kW solar array with a heated pool and 3 aircon units, some modifications were needed to future proof against rising electricity prices. He started his energy efficiency journey scouring My Efficient Electric Home for resources, and sought help from Electrify This to audit the house and came up with a priority list to get the best out of it on a limited budget. With a mix of simple infrastructure upgrades (insulation, extra solar panels, upgrading old A/C) and behavioural change, his family is maximising their existing assets without breaking the bank.
