Rusty is a Senior Research Consultant at the Institute for Sustainable Futures (UTS), specialising in batteries and clean energy supply chains. Their work focuses on responsible material sourcing, building Australia’s domestic manufacturing capability, and unlocking circular economy opportunities. Rusty’s research spans battery material demand and the role of reuse and recycling, ESG risks and opportunities in mining pathways, and developing the skilled workforce needed to support both Australia’s expanding battery industry and the clean energy transition.
