Jennifer Macey
Electric Householder
Since moving to the Illawarra 15 years ago, Jennifer and her family have slowly electrified their house, starting with solar panels and then upgrading their old gas appliances with electric every couple of years. She drives an EV and recently added a battery to their fully electric home. Jennifer is a journalist by trade and began covering climate change 26 years ago, attending her first UN Climate talks in 2000 at the Hague in the Netherlands. She reported on the European Union's Emissions Trading Scheme, visited wind and solar farms, driven EVs in Norway and reported live from natural disasters including the 2011 Brisbane floods. She's currently making a documentary podcast about Port Kembla for her PhD at the University of Wollongong.
