James Pickering
James is the National President and also the South Australian Director of the Australian Electric Vehicle Association. He has worked in the technology and communications industries for over 30 years, recently focusing on sustainability solutions. James has experience building and leading teams in Australia and Asia-Pacific roles for global technology companies, focusing on markets in transition. As a Company Director since 1998, spanning roles from startups to large businesses, he brings a governance, strategy and growth lens to his work.
Combining a passion for practical, pragmatic and equitable approaches to sustainability, a long career in technology, and a love of long road trips, James switched to driving electric vehicles in 2019, though he was a passionate advocate for reducing emissions through electrification for more than a decade prior.
