James oversees the development and execution of Ausgrid's strategy, covering a range of opportunities from delivering better services for customers and connecting new loads to innovations in batteries, EVs and energy sharing.  He is also responsible for leading Ausgrid's involvement in the NSW Distribution System Plan, an innovative collaboration with Endeavour and Essential to improve long term planning to make better use of distribution networks and maximise benefits to the people of NSW.

He has over 20 years of experience driving significant strategy, transformation and operational outcomes with several Australian icons including Lend Lease, Qantas, Woolworths, Australia Post and QBE, as well as with a range of smaller start-up and scale up businesses.  He started his career with Bain & Company, working with clients across the UK, Europe and Australia.  He holds a Masters of Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
