Finn founded SolarQuotes®, Australia’s biggest solar quoting site, and has just ticked over a million registrations, a number he finds both gratifying and slightly alarming. He sold the business to Origin Energy in 2024 ago but never quite managed to sell himself on full retirement, so he writes the Phase Shift column for the SolarQuotes blog, which concerns itself with solar panels, batteries, electric cars, and the considerable distance between how these things are meant to work and what people actually do with them. He is the author of the Amazon #1 bestseller The Good Solar Guide, and turns up on the ABC often enough that they probably know his coffee order. When not doing any of that, he rides mountain bikes badly and is building a workshop that is also, somehow, a pub, which he insists is entirely logical.
