James started at Ampol in October 2019. He has had a long-term career in the electricity and gas industry based in Australia and in the US. James has worked across many parts of the energy value chain from generation to gas pipelines and wholesale trading markets. In the last decade he has been the founder and CEO of two energy retail businesses, Australian Power & Gas and Mojo Power as well as being a CEO of a solar company.

James lives in Sydney with his wife and family. He holds a Masters in Marketing and an Associate Diploma in Applied Science. He is a member of the AICD and a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute.

Outside interests include being a Director of Wests Tigers Rugby League Club, Balmain Tigers Rugby League Football Club and Balmain Leagues Club.
